One of my earliest mashes that I really felt good about. I really started to feel like I might have a knack for this mashup hobby! Today when I listen to it I hear a few flaws and I know for a fact I could make a much more polished and better sounding version of this. I did this completely in Djay so what you're hearing is a recording of a live performance.
At the end of the day, I think it's more important to me to leave it as-is instead of trying to make a better version. Or at least right now that's how I feel. I rather work on new mashups than fix this one. And it's also nice to compare my newer work to my old. Finally, you don't want to get into the habit of going back and fixing and tinkering with your old work every time your skills improve. I don't want to pull a George Lucas!
Maybe in the future when I have a nice large catalog I could go back and rework or remaster a few select tracks. I mean, I still like this and I'm proud of what I made, but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a superior version of this track playing in my head.
Alas, art is never finished, merely abandoned.
